Adoption Information

Adoption is always an option.

Considering Adoption?

If you are experiencing an unexpected or unsupported pregnancy, you may be considering if making an adoption plan is the right choice for you. With adoption, you can choose the future you want for your child and yourself. Adoption allows you to choose the type of adoption plan and the type of family you may want your child to have.

There are three common types of adoption:

  • Open Adoption
  • Closed Adoption
  • Semi-Open Adoption

An open adoption essentially allows you to have an ongoing relationship with your child and their adoptive parents after the adoption. A closed adoption ensures the child and even the adoptive parents will have none of your personal information. A semi-open adoption is somewhere between an open and a closed adoption. In a semi-open adoption, you may choose to continue having limited contact and personal information shared between you, the adoptive parents, and your biological child.

At your options consultation appointment, we can provide more information about open, closed, and semi-open adoptions and answer any questions you may have.
